Serving Baden, Waterloo County
Baden was settled in the 1830s by German immigrants and named after the Grand Duchy of Baden in southern Germany. The Wilmot Township village grew up along the Nith River around Sir Adam Beck's birthplace — the same Adam Beck who later founded Ontario Hydro — and the Sir Adam Beck Conservation Area on the village's edge preserves his ancestral home and the Trillium Bog.
